Low Budget Filmmaking

Low Budget Filmmaking
The film clerks was made with a low budget. This is apparent in certain aspects. The camera was very grainy in certain parts and there were also some very poorly shot angles. From my initial thoughts, this film was so successful because of the good humor they had throughout the film. Clerks also was shot mainly in a single location. At some parts in the film, there were other smaller location but none as important as the shop. This may suggest they didn't have the budget to be able to rent out other locations and kept it to the shop so it wouldn't be as high budget. The audio in this film also cut out a lot when the scenes changed and were not smoothly transitioned like high budget films are. This suggests that they either had a lower budget mic or didn't have great audio editors. The film also had very few people in it. This implies that they didn't want to pay for more actors to take part in the film. Also, because it is a low budget film it means they had no special fx and compositing editing. This film was mostly just put together by using simple cuts and fades with title scenes at the start and finish.
