I really liked this short film as its different from the majority of the short films on the depict website. The short films on the website were purely based around good shots, angles and features. This short film is different as its focused more around the story line and whats actually happening which makes it a lot more enjoyable. In this short film there is a lot more going on than some of the other short films i watched. I watched a film about a man picking up a balloon and playing a tune with it in a cafe and it didn't really appeal to me as it was boring and there was very little going on in the short film. In "The Sun" i found that there was a lot going on even though it was an animated film. The animator gave the sun a personality and made it appear to be a character in the animation. The sun had a very destructive personality who enjoyed terrorizing other with its powers. In this short film, it dries up water so fish die and makes animals collapse and die because of the heat it gives off. This shows it is very powerful but at the end is beaten by the moon and the night because the time has changed. This short film also made a lot of sense and was easy to keep up with as it was a simple concept which kept up with a simple childhood story of a hero and a villain; The Villain being the sun and the hero being night time. Also the animations in this can appeal to all target audiences which makes it the ideal video to produce as it appeals to a larger target audience. This short film also looks a lot more professional than the others and really stood out.
